There’s something instantly magnetic about Zoey Madison. At just 17, the New York based singer-songwriter radiates a kind of self awareness that many artists spend years trying to find.

Her debut EP Electric doesn’t just introduce her as a new voice in pop. Rather it marks the arrival of a young artist already fluent in the language of feeling.
Across four songs, Electric is glowing. Produced by Matt Chiaravalle (Warren Zevon, Debbie Harry) and co-written with Aimée Proal (Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera), the EP balances radio polish with heartfelt vulnerability and it’s the kind of pop that feels both relatable and real.
The title track “Electric” sets the tone with a rush of bright synths and euphoric energy. Zoey’s vocals glide from breathy intimacy to full bodied power, and her four octave range is on full display. There is a nod to
It’s the sound of falling in love for the first time, with all the excitement and fear that come with it. Zoey’s vocals glide from breathy intimacy to full-bodied power, her four-octave range on full display but never overstated. The track’s nod to Romeo and Juliet adds a timeless touch and is a reminder that passion, even when fleeting, is always worth the risk.
“Scars” strips things back, revealing a different side of Zoey. It opens with the vulnerable line, “Be gentle, I bruise easily,” and from there the song builds slowly into a soaring ballad about healing and transformation.
The tempo lifts again on “Move,” which is an R&B leaning standout track with sunlit guitars and an easy groove. This track has an effortless cool about it – it’s playful and romantic, filled with that spark of momentum. “I’m no longer seeing in blue, I’ve got technicolor dreams coming true,” she sings and it’s this kind lf lyric that can get stuck in your head for days.
The EP closes wiith “Lullabies,” and it’s a hushed and haunting goodbye. Layered harmonies drift over gentle piano, and Zoey’s voice feels close enough to touch. It’s a song about love that lingers after it’s gone with musical elements that are soft, and quietly devestating. It’s also a fitting way to end a record that balances light and shadow so gracefully.
Throughout, Zoey Madison leans into emotion with an openness that feels rare in today’s pop landscape. That honesty has clearly resonated – her recent surge on TikTok where she has reached over 1 million impressions, proves that her message of connection and empowerment is striking a chord with Gen Z listeners.
