Modern Pop Soul Band Releases Funky New Track

by Featured Guest September 13, 2014 7:50 am Tagged With: Funk, Pop, Soul

Check out Brooklyn-based modern soul pop foursome Bridge City Hustle’s new single, “Touch You,” off their forthcoming sophomore EP, set to release later this year. Listen HERE. Vocalist/percussionist Johnny Burgos weaves a tale of longing and loving, as he relates details of skin-tingling romance akin to that of Marvin Gaye’s classic song “Lets Get It On”.

Comprised of talented and innovative musicians, songwriters, and producers, BCH is keeping iconic Motown funk sound alive. Building upon deep, hearty grooves established in BCH’s debut EP, “Touch You” finds the band experimenting with a refreshingly modern fusion of funk and soul elements

About Bridge City Hustle

Brooklyn-based foursome Bridge City Hustle formed in fall of 2012 and has been building a strong following in the Northeast. All members tout impressive resumes as NYC producers and musicians playing in venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and the Knitting Factory. Brooklyn bred lead singer, Johnny Burgos is a multifaceted producer, engineer, and songwriter, and has co-produced beats for hip-hop luminaries, such as Mobb Deep and M.O.P.  Pete O’Neill, has shared the stage with artists such as James Brown and the Allman Brothers, and has developed his distinctive fretless bass tone studying under bass legends Victor Wooten and Chuck Rainey.

A student of  The Hartford Conservatory and The New England Institute of Art, drum and keyboard virtuoso Dave Zerio, is equal parts Steve Gadd, John Bonham, and Clyde Stubblefield. Alto Saxophonist Dan Cherouny, a student of Gary Thomas, is also an emerging force in the world of electronic music as well as an engineer and producer at NYC’s Flux Studios.
