N E U R O T I X Take It Back To Grunge Foundation With New Single Loser, More Music Coming Soon

Neurotix-Loser

Chicago based musician, singer and songwriter Dom Tonozzi had let music rest on the back burner for the better part of a decade when he woke one morning ready to start a band. As if the stars had aligned, he reached to drummer Dave Reisig who had crossed paths with previously when searching for drum lessons for his son. After adding Paul Rhyne to the roster as lead guitar, the trio realized there was something special brewing. During their first year, they added bassist Carlo Tomayo and N E U R O T I X finally felt whole.

With their newest release, Loser, now available (and more singles coming soon), the band reflects on what makes this debut single their first pick:

This song means a lot to us. It was written when we were just starting out and was one of our first ‘favorites.’ We hadn’t played a show yet. We were just jamming in a garage drinking beer at that point, so it’s almost fate that it’s now going to be our first official release.”

Loser is the first of 3 songs to be released. These releases are leading up to the band’s album. The next single, which has not been revealed yet, is coming on June 22nd.

Loser is undeniably grunge. However, the catchy intro that soon builds into an intense wall of sound might have your senses prepared for more of a surf-rock-esque jam. It is quite the pleasant, unexpected surprise for those who have never heard  N E U R O T I X previous to this moment.

Everything you did, do and still will love about grunge is present in Loser. A style that some consider obsolete, N E U R O T I X unleash the sounds of energetic, high intensity, angst once made popular by Kurt Cobain, Nirvana and other bands from an era of rock that is now just a blip on our radar. About their dedication to grunge,

“We’re bringing back what we consider to be an unfinished genre that left the music scene for over two decades, “GRUNGE!” Ever since the death of Nirvana’s lead-man, Kurt Cobain, the style has been mostly obsolete. This is the reason we are bringing grunge back! It makes the listener come alive with its high intensity and loud obnoxious tones.”

From where I’m sitting, mission accomplished.

Keep  N E U R O T I X on your radar. The next single is coming June 22nd.
