Ollie Drops “This That,” an Anthem of Self-Belief Redefining Indie Hip-Hop

by Leslie Sherman October 6, 2025 11:25 am Tagged With: singer, songwriter

Toronto-area artist Ollie sets the stage for a new era with “This That,” the powerful new single from his upcoming album More Than Music Forever. Blending alternative vibes with melodic hip-hop, the track is an unapologetic anthem of resilience and self-belief – a statement from an artist who built his career outside the system and continues to thrive on his own terms.

Speaking about the song’s inspiration, Ollie shares:

“This That” is an anthem of self-belief. I came into the music industry with no connections and little help, and for years most people I met didn’t understand my vision or accept me. I learned through mistakes, built outside the system, and found strength in doing things differently. Today, I see those challenges as the foundation that gave me the skills to create on my own – with the support of the real people who believe in me.

With More Than Music Forever, Ollie expands on the ethos that has defined his artistry from the beginning: vulnerability is strength, and music can be a lifeline. It’s also the driving force behind his growing fan club and lifestyle movement Better Me – a community where fans connect not only with Ollie’s music but with each other.

“I’ve always believed music should do more than just sound good. It should say something. It should mean something,” explains Ollie. “More Than Music Forever is about building something that lasts – something real.”

His distinct lyrical style – part confession, part conversation – cuts across hip-hop, pop, rock, and even country, reflecting the complexity of his small-town roots and everyday life. In a landscape dominated by flash and hype, Ollie proves that authenticity still matters and that it can reach across borders.
