Paul Maged Releases First In A Trilogy of EPs, Light Years Away

Paul Maged-Light Years Away

Singer/songwriter and comedic spirit Paul Maged has been known to release socially conscious, politically aware music from a place of rage and frustration but his newest project, Light Years Away, takes a more light-hearted approach and is the first in a trilogy of EPs where Paul continues to explore and expand his songwriting.

-We’ve featured Paul before. Find those articles here and here.

Touching back on his days as a comedian, Paul incorporates that aspect of his life into the music video for Light Years Away. Bringing back to life the various comedic characters Paul played, the animated music video features Paul as the various personas which make up the band: Stoner Moonshine on bass guitar, Italian Chef/Mafioso Vinny Tortellini on lead guitar and legendary Porn Star Randy Phella on drums. In the video, the band performs the song in outer space.

Fueled with a little more sarcasm, a little more satire and plenty of passion, Paul’s creative evolution continues throughout Light Years Away (the EP). Blending elements of pop, alternative and indie rock with his humorous nature, Paul Maged creates songs that can be appreciated by more mature listeners as well as those who share Paul’s passion for social consciousness and observing the institutions that have enormous amounts of influence on our lives.

Speaking of the hypersensitivity attached to our political correctness these days, Paul has a song and video associated with the topic. PC Police is an upbeat, punk pop track with an infectious hook that will have you pumping your fist in no time.

Topping out at seven solid tracks, I think Half Moon is my current favorite off Light Years Away. However, each track has something a little different that various types of listeners will definitely enjoy.
