Belgium born, NYC based singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, harpist Pia Salvia is NOT your average recording artist.

Pia Salvia started her musical journey at the age of 6 with harp lessons. Since then, her portfolio of awards, accolades, accomplishments and travels is…too much to easily summarize, but trust me when I say it is highly impressive and worth reading about.

Somewhere during her journey, Pia decided she was going to break free from any boxes and creative restrictions. With that decision came her journey into using the harp in non-traditional ways to create refreshing, new, non-traditional music.

The result is unlike anything else I can think of to compare it to. I’m sure someone, somewhere could find a comparison, but let me just impose upon you how cool, fresh and different Salvia’s sound actually is.

Her new single, Dark Longing, is available today and is a fusion of harp, jazz, Hip Hop and soul. You’ll want to add this to your playlist (and you’ll more than likely be enjoying repeat listens even if you don’t).
