Pinoy-Pop Group SB19 Begins the New Era with PAGTATAG! EP and World Tour

by Leslie Sherman June 9, 2023 8:09 pm

International music sensation, SB19, announced their new PAGTATAG! EP with the release of “GENTO”, the first of 6 songs, available now on all DSPs and streaming services. The five-member group has amassed a die-hard following worldwide, with hit singles such as “What?” and “MAPA” receiving over 20 million streams collectively and is set to continue ruling the P-Pop music scene in 2023.

With this brand new, post-apocalyptic themed EP, the first half showcases SB19’s incredible talent and versatility starting with “GENTO”. With a blend of electrifying beats, powerful rap style, and catchy melodies, the song takes listeners on an exhilarating musical journey. Following the title track is “I WANT YOU”, SB19’s first R&B song that no doubt will turn more heads. A poignant play at one’s aspirations, this immersive track unveils a deeper side to the band’s sound. “CRIMZONE” flips the mood once again, a song affirming that excellence can never be achieved without blood, sweat, and tears. Paying homage to their struggles and triumphs as artists, the overwhelmingly heavy beats are a symbolic reminder of hardship as they step into the zone and break boundaries.

The second half of the EP sees a tonal shift in SB19’s journey. “ILAW”, a raw rendition of authenticity and vulnerability, acknowledges that too much light can be overwhelming, and “LIHAM” has the band openly baring their souls in this ballad, an intimate declaration of devotion. And to wrap it all up, “FREEDOM” closes the EP with an upbeat track that celebrates freedom, breaking away from trials and challenges, and stepping into a new era, PAGTATAG! The storyline for PAGTATAG! is set in a post-apocalyptic world where all resources are scarce, leaving humanity hopeless as they try to save the last plant that can bring the old world back.

The super group also recently announced a world tour, which will kick off at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila on June 24-25, 2023, and will have its stops in multiple cities across the Philippines, United States and Canada.
