Robbing Johnny Combine Folk, Rock, Hip Hop and Theatrics into A Worthwhile Musical Experience, Cold March Now Available

Robbing Johnny-Cold March

Robbing Johnny is a NYC based bodega folk rock band that delivers a raw, gritty, infectious and refreshing blend of folk, rock and Hip Hop. Their theatrical performances are a testament to the pure force of energy that emanates from this talented and highly creative group of musicians.

Actively collaborating with other artists from various genres, Robbing Johnny are not afraid to push, pull, stretch and bend boundaries and genre categories until they are ready to break.

Their new album Cold March combines everything I love about each distinct style of music encapsulated into their sound. Every song consistently delivers something edgy, something refreshing, and combinations of styles you never thought to fit together before.

The raw, organic grittiness of Folk. The in-your-face, distorted edge of Rock. The infectious melodic and harmonic elements of hit singles. And the vocal deliveries and lyrical substance found often in the roots of Hip Hop. All these things can be found seamlessly weaving their way through the sonic novel that is Cold March.

Speaking of sonic novels, the tracklist for Cold March plays out like chapters in a book as these talented and genre bending creatives present the album as a story of an outsider moving to New York and all that ensues as they adjust to their new life.

From the mandolin fueled, foot stompin’ Worms In The Soil to the barrage of top class musicianship on Highbridge Park to the rapid fire Hip Hop flows of Bodega Vegan, Robbing Johnny are guaranteed to rock your socks off, melt your face, pump your adrenaline, raise your fist and break your neck in one amazingly crafted album.

Consider me a new fan. I LOVE this band.

Their latest album Cold March is now available!
