Inner Voices and Curious Choices, This New Album from Round About Really Jams, It Uplifts, It Energizes

Round About-Inner Voices and Curious Choices

I can’t seem to find anything wrong with the new album, Inner Voices & Curious Choices, by Washington DC pop rockers Round About. I’m serious!

After the week I’ve had, Inner Voices & Curious Choices delivered the perfect blend of soothing, yet energizing, even uplifting, pop rock jams that revitalized my spirits and left me wanting to hear more.

That wanting to hear more is a hard one. Before that comment makes sense, allow me to fill in the blanks with some context.

See...Round About was planning to hit the studio in 2020. Guess what? Yeah, we know. That microscopic being hijacked the planet and left us all scrambling for cover. I feel your pain, Round About, I truly do.

Nevertheless, the band ventured forth. They adapted. They endured. But when it was time to hit the studio for recording sessions, the team learned their bassist, co-founder, and dear friend Dave Mehring would be leaving the area due to family and work circumstances. Man…I can feel that pain, too. Ouch!

With the spirit of true musicians, the band poured it all out for one last HOORAH as the four piece pop rock band that has always laid down some of the sweetest pop rock jams at the exact time we, the people, need them most!

Alongside Dave Mehring, Round About’s four-piece line-up consists of Patrick Garrity (vox, rhythm guitar, some bass), Aaron Lowenberger (lead guitar, some lead vox), and Phil Raino securing the foundation on drums.

The crew was also joined by Mark Bower (keyboardist) who has contributed to Round About‘s albums throughout the years; including organ on a few of Inner Voices‘ tracks. Michael Clem of Eddie from Ohio (Northern Virginia folk legends) added harmonica to A Single Kiss. Blaine Misner provided shakers on The Most Important Thing.

As Round About enters the next phase, one as an acoustic rock duo, we will always have Inner Voices & Curious Choices to remind us of the magic that occurs when master craftsmen collide with musical chemistry unmatched for their time and place in their space.

Safe travels and here’s a toast to the next stage in your jouney, Dave! I know the band’s really going to miss You!
