New Jersey based working musician Ryan Zimmerman has arrived with his newest project, Ephemeral As A Kiss, blending styles and stretching boundaries without fear. Always busy with various projects, Ryan’s solo material is a place where he can create and craft songs without restriction or external influences impeding his creative process.

The opening track, Reason, is an energetic, acoustic guitar driven song about getting by without asking why. Ryan’s charismatic delivery adds a contagious appeal to the already engaging nature of this first song.

Backpacks slows it down with well mixed rock drums, a driving acoustic rhythm, alt-rock-esque electric guitar accents and a sombering tale about a friend who got lost in the troubles that come along with addiction to the wrong substances.

Lola and John kicks off with a simple but beautiful acoustic guitar. Maintaining a minimalist nature, the song is driven by the acoustic and Ryan’s passionate, raw vocals which tell the story of two troubled souls who fortunately found escape with each other.

For The Meek switches things up and closes out the EP with a funky, reggae-esque soundscape featuring wah’d out guitar, tropical drums, a ska influenced electric guitar progression and a healthy dose of soul nurturing vibes.
