Jakob22 has released the 1st Video from Dreamstate 2 The REM Effect.

On this release they’re a few more features as the 22 Family has expanded and grown.

Jakob22 is showing MC’s how it is done on this track.  Showing the underground real hip hop is still alive and well in Hip Hop. Jakob22 teams up with King of the Canadian Wicked shit J. Reno the Sadist over a beat produced by Myndz Eye Productions “ Stand A Chance“

Who is Jakob22?  What is the Fang?  Why the mask?

These are constant questions you will hear when people speak of Jakob22.  Jakob22, hailing out of Toronto Canada is a new name on the game but not a rookie on the microphone.  For years perfecting his craft in the streets of Scarborough, Jakob22 is a veteran in the art of MC’ing. Jakob22 might just become a known to the world but is far from a rap rookie, working with some legends in his time. Jakob22 is a storyteller, a street poet, a battle rapper, a conscious MC and a fiction author.  Jakob22 has decided he is bringing back the true art of lyricism back to hip hop. To inquire why Jakob22 wears masks in his videos is best described through Jakobs own lyrics in his song “Night Terrors”

Jakob is all nightmares and dreams. I stay hooded and masked up because my image don’t mean a thing.

J Reno

Versatility is the dominating quality of J Reno’s artfully violent hip-hop. He grabs the genre by the throat, infuses his own unique style, embraces diversity and challenges convention with his dangerous creativity.

As a member of the 6 man group Academy, or solo, J Reno is a force in the indie scene, and shows no signs of stopping. Born & Raised in Windsor, Ontario it is very simple to see where J’s attutide, style & mindset comes from. ” I’m from a heartless city, where people will do what ever they can to get over you. Job’s are gone, people are desperate, and it all reflects through me and my music.”

J Reno is Canada’s only nationally known emcee who has stepped outside the box of average hip hop and popular cliche’s to create a buzz. Rather then following a trend, J continues to follow his heart, and persue his goals the way he feel’s. His dedication and growth can only be spoken for by his accomplishments.

Jakob22 chooses to let his music define his image instead of his image define his music.  Jakob22 was growing tiresome with what some were calling hip hop nowadays and had a real distaste for the music. Believing that in the cycle the world is ready for some real MC’s again Jakob22 has decided to be the solution to the problem.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
