Steve Markoff and Patricia Lazarra Prepare for New Album, Singles ‘Liama’ and ‘If I Could Reach Your Heart’ Now Available

Steve Markoff and Patricia Lazarra

New Jersey based composers and flute duo Steve Markoff and Patricia Lazarra are preparing to release their next album titled Romances In Blue. Their latest singles Liama and If I Could Reach Your Heart will be part of this forthcoming album and are now available for listening!

With this COVID thing still in the air, Steve and Patricia were not going to allow stay-at-home and social distancing orders to slow their music creation process. In true DIY fashion, If I Could Reach Your Heart (the single) was recorded and produced on iPhones. Although the album will include a studio recording of this track, we can take this opportunity to enjoy a more organic, less polished version of this delightful composition.

Both singles feature the illustrious piano playing of Allison Brewster Franzetti who provides the sonic foundation from which Steve and Patricia’s woodwinds soar, glide and bounce across the audible frequency spectrum.

Liama paints a more mellow, reflective tapestry compared to the inspirational, uplifting vibes of it’s partner composition, If I Could Reach Your Heart. The piano and flutes seamlessly blend into an emotive, passionate dance that tugs at your heart strings keeping you, the listener, thoroughly engaged until the end. Aptly titled, this song sounds as if it is trying (and succeeding) at reaching your heart.

The forthcoming album, Romances In Blue, is the follow-up to Steve and Patricia’s album of classic covers titled Timeless. We featured Timeless not too long ago. Be sure to check that out while we wait for Romances In Blue to be released.

You can listen to Liama and If I Could Reach Your Heart on Spotify. If you enjoy instrumental music, especially flute music, then be sure to share and to add one or both of these compositions to your playlist!
