In her latest single “Crash,” Alabama based singer-songwriter Molly Thomas invites us into a moment of rupture. One that irrevocably altered her life.

Written in the aftermath of a near-fatal car accident, the song is less a retelling of the event than a slow-motion emotional rendering of its aftermath: the shock, the fragility, the pain, and, most poignantly, the unexpected grace of being cared for in the darkest hour.

by Leslie Sherman May 27, 2025 7:57 am Tagged With: 2025, Alternative, composer, indie, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

Few artists bridge the gap between conceptual art and immersive listening quite like Ben Neill.

A composer, performer and the inventor of the electro acoustic Mutantrumpet, Neill has long been known for bending the boundaries of sound and fusing acoustic tradition with digital innovation.

But with Morphic Resonance, the first release from his forthcoming album Amalgam Sphere, Neill enters especially ambitious territory as he explores the radical theories of evolutionary biologist Rupert Sheldrake.

There are protest songs that rage and then there are songs like Kristy Chmura’s “Wake Up” – quiet but resolute.

Originally released in 2018 on her debut solo album “Stained…Glass Heart”, “Wake Up” was born from deep ecological sorrow and a long-simmering desire to do something in the face of overwhelming climate change and environmental loss. In 2025, that call feels more urgent than ever and Chmura has answered it.

Alex Kramer offers up a playful New Wave inspired track to usher in the spring with his new song, Mr. Popular.  Kramer lightheartedly ruminates on the transitory nature of dating in the modern world, where our infatuations and desires can be fleeting.  Recorded at The Cabin Studio with producer Matty Alger, the song kicks in boldly, […]

Roxana Labatt’s Brand New Single “Someone to Call” Soars with Emotion

by Leslie Sherman March 27, 2025 8:13 am Tagged With: 2025, indie, new music, singer, songwriter, United States

Singer-songwriter Roxana Labatt is no stranger to re-invention. Once a high-powered Wall Street lawyer with degrees from Princeton and NYU Law, she faced a life-altering moment when a sudden health crisis forced her to reconsider everything.

That brush with mortality became a catalyst, leading her away from the rigid path of corporate law and back to the thing she had loved since childhood – music. Now, with an ever-growing body of work, Roxana has proven herself as a compelling voice in indie pop and rock, as she creates songs that blend evocative storytelling with striking melodies.
