Five years ago, Zain Lodhia had never touched a guitar, sang, or written a song…but he did play Rock Band with his college roommates.
Now this is where it gets interesting; playing the video game Rock Band actually opened Zain up to his own musicality which led him to grab an instrument, sing a note, and write a song…or 14.
“Back then I had no interest in pop or rock,” he says. “I was learning songs for success of game, but I started liking the music, it opened me up.”
In the spirit of OneRepublic, The Fray, and John Mayer, Zain Lodhia takes The Leap and delivers a powerful electro-pop rock compilation of emotional, empowering, and positive music.
After releasing the Memories EP in 2011, Zain takes a leap forward by working with producers Tim Brennan and Mark Sutor, formerly of the acclaimed pop-punk band June. The result is a list of strong radio ready pop songs with purpose and soul.
“It’s a milestone being able to hold this album in my hands. Music has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until later in my life that I discovered how powerfully songs can move us,” he says, pausing reflectively. “I’m so glad I didn’t let my fears hold me back.”
Mr. Lodhia has proven himself a master at crafting excellent, emotion-evoking songs. Keep your ears open for this guy.
