The Basces Are Back With New Single/Video for “Old Wheels”

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman May 26, 2016 9:57 am Tagged With: indie, Pop, Rock

The Basces

If you missed the previous release from rock/pop outfit The Basces, you can find that here.

“How many lives to save the crown?” is a lyric from “Old Wheels” which I think sums up the substance of this song. A commentary on how the institutions report the same old news to move the same “Old Wheels”.

Built on a solid foundation of impactful lead guitar lines, a danceable rhythm, punching bass notes and accented with background vocals that build a wall of delightful frequencies, “Old Wheels” is a strong record with quite a bit of depth.

The song is very upbeat and catchy which might seem the complete opposite of the lyrical content but The Basces package the message and deliver it with refreshing style.

Not only will this song make you move, but you’ll be thinking as well.

It’s time for going home,
Tomorrow they’ll be here again,
Making the same old news,
That move the same old wheels.”
