The Boston Boys Keep You Satisfied

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman September 16, 2013 2:41 pm Tagged With: Bluegrass, Folk, Roots

Keep You Satisfied by The Boston Boys The Boston Boys are guaranteed to Keep You Satisfied with their electrified brand of soulful, folk rockin’ bluegrass.

These cats have been busy and I’m willing to bet some of you have seen them live… either at ROMP in Kentucky, Floyd Fest in Virginia, Strawberry Park Music Fest, or SXSW.

This group of musicians has received two musical diplomacy grants from the State Department which allowed travel to the Middle East and Northern Africa. Their work with the State Department is part of their commitment to music education in the U.S.

Major respect and kudos, sirs!

During their travels they have opened for the likes of John Prine, Jennah Bell, Old School Freight Train, and Fairwell Drifters.

The Boston Boys have created a unique, genre-melting potion that reflects each members experiences and knowledge of various styles of musicianship.

If you favor comparisons, think Mumford & Sons coming together with the Alabama Shakes and going on tour with Wilco… some refer to their style as Future Roots.

Eric Robertson plays mandolin, guitar, and voice; Duncan Wickel handles fiddle and vocals; Josh Hari takes care of bass and vocals; while Nicholas Falk bangs on the drums and percussion as well as providing yet another layer of vocals.

These creative talents came together at Berkeley in Boston in 2009. After playing regularly in the Boston area, they were chosen (1 of 7 bands) to be a part of the campaign to re-elect President Obama.

This group stays on the road so be sure to connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, or their website in order to keep up and catch a show.

Keep You Satisfied will be available in October 2013.
