The Phonkey Phonomusicianist

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman October 5, 2013 4:24 pm

Dirtle Wax Records are proud to announce the latest album from Loop Skywalker.

Crafted on nothing but turntables, a mixer and a beat up midi controller Loop delivers a slick, cohesive and head-nodding journey. Taking in everything from medical advice on itchy ears, to Hip-Hop and electro, to System of a Down, he unleashes a musical, skilled and entertaining piece.

It’s a name your price album, so you can get it for free or pay what you think it is worth.
Get it here: http://loopskywalker1.bandcamp.com/

Keeping one foot firmly in traditional turntablism and the other moving around to seamlessly encompass blues, metal, jazz and whatever else he damn well feels like, Loop is a true one-man band.

So who is Loop Skywalker? He is a battle-hardened Skratch DJ, a founder member of the Bionic Stylus Crew, a multiple DMC & IDA champion (and vice-president of the UK & Ireland IDA chapter), an organiser of the FIRST online DJ battle & a husband & father.

This is Loop’s 5th release on Dirtle Wax in just over a year following The Skywalker EP, his concept album Skratch Zombies, Ian Beale’s Beastmode Beats and his production showcase album Skill Kosby Presents: Koolaborations.

Loop has also featured on albums by Dirty Joe and Rico (also available on Dirtle Wax). Loop has a heap of mixes on his mixcloud page covering almost every genre.

Loop currently has numerous other projects on the go including cuts on the upcoming Guerrilla Gods LP and learning to drive a tram.
