The Ria Reece Band

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman October 29, 2013 1:12 pm

The Ria Reece Band CD Cover I have a an old school Rhythm and Blues treat for your ears in the form of this self-titled record from The Ria Reece Band.

Ria Reece started singing professionally in February of 2011. By September of that same year, The Ria Reece Band had formed.

Released on August 16th, 2013, the album has received quite a bit of love from radio.

It made the Top 10 Folk/Roots/Blues charts on CHRW 94.9FM, CFRC 101.9FM, and CFUV 101.9 FM. It also made the Top 30 on CJSF 90.1 FM and was the featured album on CKIA 88.3 FM in Quebec City.

In July of this year, the band was well received by music fans at the Quebec Summer Festival and they have also played in renowned venues such as the Upstairs Jazz Bar, Pointe Claire, Little Imperial, and St. Lawrence Bar Blues.

Reece’s powerful and souful vocals take the spotlight while the band lays down their classic rhythm and blues backdrop.

Members include Ria Reece on vocals, Andre Chevarie on guitar, Martin Laporte on drums, and Sylvain Lamothe on bass. The album was produced by Disco Fairy Records.

If you want to experience the soul of Etta James, the spunk of Bonnie Raitt, and the pop appeal of Sheryl Crow in one vocalist, look no further than the Ria Reece Band.

The album is now available.

You can connect with the band on Facebook or Twitter.
