The Wandering Bards Will Capture You With Their Americana-Gypsy-Funk

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman August 11, 2012 8:08 am Tagged With: Americana, Funk

The Wandering Bards

I typically save audio and video for after the text but I would like you to play the video below. I believe it accurately captured and portrays the spirit of this awesome sauce band.

And yes, you read the headline right, this is the finest Americana-Gypsy-Funk the East Coast has to offer.

The Wandering Bards are, for lack of a better word, fun.

The spirit of vaudeville collided with the hearts of gypsies under the marriage of Americana and Funk to bring us some of the most uplifting, energetic, get-out-your-seat-and-dance music. And did I say…fun?

These guys are busy, too. Check out this excerpt I lifted from their website.

From New York City down to the Jersey Shore, The Wandering Bards have graced many-a venue stage (Crossroads, The Saint, Banjo Jim’s) and including festivals such as The Black Potatoe and Union County Music Fest. They have also performed at private parties, cocktail hours and even libraries! They have been featured on the Internet radio channel HomeGrownRadioNJ.com. They won 1st Place in the Acoustic Category on OurStage.com and thus appeared in Relix magazine.

Anyone who can rock a library…well, they freakin’ rock! Live music and libraries typically don’t find themselves dancing with each other. That’s worthy of a footnote in my book.

Their latest release, Party Hat, is now available on iTunes and I highly recommend you grab this 4 song blast. And once you click play, get ready to get up and start groovin’. You won’t be able to stand still. You won’t be able to not have fun. And if this doesn’t lift your spirits, I don’t know what to tell you…you’re obviously dead inside.

Tap your mouse on the album cover below and go show The Wandering Bards your support. You won’t be disappointed.

Scroll down a little further to see their video for Party Hat.
