Boomlights – Visitors

Boomlights started just a little over a year ago in Old Hickory, TN – about 20 minutes north of downtown Nashville. As luck would have it our singer, Tony Compton, moved in directly across the street from Derrek and Alexander. They quickly became friends after realizing they had a great deal of music in common and soon began writing together. Adam, drummer, joined the band shortly afterwards after moving to the area from Texas.

In the last 4-6 months the guys have been playing at places like the East Room, Foobar, the Crying Wolf, and the Glass Ménage in East Nashville area.

Boomlights draws a lot of inspiration from as much older music as it does new.

Earlier on we all had favorite bands that we’d reference regarding sounds we wanted or inspiration but now we find ourselves listening to any and all new music instead of revisiting favorites. Dynamics are our favorite part of music by far and we have as much fun exploring them as we can – we feel like they can take a person to different place just as much as strong lyrics can.
