Traditional Country Music

by C Bret Campbell May 29, 2011 9:34 pm Tagged With: Americana, Country, Nashville, United States

A New Kind of Traditional Nashville Label

From TCM website:

“TCM Records began as a dream of successful Oklahoma entrepenuer, TCM Records - Traditional Country MusicRandy Matthews, formulating in his mind during vacations spent in Ada, Oklahoma’s Ken Lance Arena, rubbing elbows with Country Stars like Reba Mcantire, Moe Bandy and others.

Matthews Fell in love with real country music and knew he wanted to be a part of it. He would embark on his first music business venture after purchasing a tour bus, refurbishing it and making a trip to Nashville, TN.

Traditional Country Music Records (TCM) became a reality in late 2010 when Matthews signed Craig Moritz, David Ray and Chris Caskey to record deals with David and Craig releasing their first TCM Albums in early 2011. ”

A Nice Invitation

I get invited to review quite a few artists, labels, and  websites. Every now and  again, I find something  that really stands out! TCM Records and their roster are among the exceptional groups that really make me enjoy my job.

From Craig Moritz’s rockin’ new Nashville style and tongue-in-cheek lyrics to Chris Caskey’s beautiful ballads (complete with traditional mandolin and fiddle!) to David Ray’s very country-folk (gorgeous steel included), there is  a bit more than a taste of Nashville to be found here!

I took a good long listen to all of these great new artists, and found myself loving every moment of it! The artistry displayed in the song-writing, musicianship, recording, and production here is just fabulous. There is a new force to reckon with in Nashville, and that force is Traditional Country Music.
