Tropic Deliver Smooth Break-Up Music With Latest EP, Bittersweet Now Available

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman August 27, 2018 8:52 pm Tagged With: edm, Electronic, New York, Pop, R&B, Soul, United States

Tropic-Bittersweet

New York based duo Tropic consists of electronic producer DJ Phuse and R&B singer/songwriter Jo-B Sebastian. Their music is an appealing, aurally pleasing blend of elements from R&B, Soul, Pop, EDM and Electronic music styles. Potent melodies, lush production, emotive lyrics and a musical chemistry that is undeniable are what you will find on their latest project Bittersweet.

Los Angeles native DJ Phuse began learning piano at the same time he was learning to walk. By third grade he was known as the “Music Man”. By the time he was leaving high school, Phuse knew there was nothing else for him outside of music. He joined a music school where he found the space to explore and develop his craft as a producer, DJ and crowd mover.

Born in Hong Kong but raised in Manila, Jo-B Sebastian now lives on the East Coast (of the U.S.) where he indulges in his obsession with retro synths, 80s new wave and funk music. These influences combined with a healthy dose of charisma and a whole lot of soul guarantee that Jo-B’s vocal performances grab your attention, suck you into the song, and keep you engaged until the very end.

Tropic came into being when Phuse remixed Jo-B’s debut single (Get To Know You) which sparked the beginning of a creative endeavor that elevated their solo ventures to a whole new level.

Bittersweet is a smooth, luscious, heart-infused wall of sound that stimulates, engages, charms and soothes the heartbreak of break-ups like a champion. This is great music!

Listen to Bittersweet on Spotify or Soundcloud.
