Troy Petty teamed up with three-time Grammy nominated drummer and producer Ken Coomer for his forthcoming full length album due this spring on German label Dachshund Records.

Today, I want to put the spotlight on Troy’s single Kept which will be available on all streaming platforms on March 15th.

Kicking off with snaps and a low frequency, guttural synth, Kept starts off simple and minimal but soon launches into a head bangin’, fist pumpin’ wall of sound that is guaranteed to get your body moving and your blood pumping.

A writer who puts a lot of thought and personal experiences into his songwriting, Kept is a tune about someone who finds them self alone and buried by their uncontrollable hoarding behavior. The lyric that really stands out and drives the substance of the song home is,

Having toured the US and Europe mulitple times, Petty has developed a live looping show as both a solo artist and with a band. In May, Troy is launches the DirecTOUR which will travel through Europe from May into late fall.

While we wait for the forthcoming album, we can dig into Troy’s discography. In 2012 he released Fairy Tale Pen. In 2017, he released Departures which became a breakthrough for the Songs and Whispers label.
