Tu P Tackles Global Issues of Humanity Head On In New Album, Agenda Now Available

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman November 9, 2020 11:38 am Tagged With: Australia, Hip Hop, rap

Tu P-Agenda

Australian Hip Hop artist Tu P first appeared on these pages in 2013 when he dropped his album Made of Jade.

Tu P is back with a thoughtful, relevant, heartfelt album titled Agenda. Within the 20 songs that make up this powerful volume, Tu P tackles the gauntlet of issues currently facing humanity, our politics and planet Earth.

Whether discussing the ill effects of materialism and advertising on disenfranchised communities (such as refugees) in Gaudy, discussing climate change and the increase of seasonal wildfires in Australia on Here There On Fire, paying tribute to his (refugee) parents in Wellspring, giving us a call to action to clean up and protect our water sources in Save Our Seas and Long Live Our Seas, raising concerns about authoritarian-leaning administrations in Free Tibet Free The Uyghurs and Police State, or sharing his perspective as a doctor on the front lines of the pandemic in Coronavirus The Worst and Best of Us, there is absolutely no denying the thoroughness and depth with which Tu P thinks and presents his thoughts and feelings through music.

Consisting of a team of highly talented Hip Hop/Rap producers and featured artists, Agenda delivers a hard hitting, highly enjoyable album that true Hip Hop heads will have no choice but to support.

During some of the most divided times I have experienced so far in my time on planet Earth, Tu P’s intellectual, heartfelt expressions through rhythm and rhyme have arrived right on time; reminded me why I originally fell in love with Hip Hop in the first place.

Agenda is available on Spotify and Soundcloud.
