Tu P is Bigger Than Hip Hop

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman February 26, 2013 11:50 am Tagged With: Australia, Hip Hop

Brisbane, Australia’s Tu P has arrived with his new album Made of Jade.

Tu P

Tu P is more than just an emcee and a performer. He is a medical doctor and the son of Vietnamese refugees.

In other words, nothing slows Tu P down. Whether healing through his expertise or through his music, Tu P is unique and has already succeeded at setting himself apart from the competition.

We were fortunate enough to grab this real dope interview with him where we spoke more about his background and the act of balancing a medical career with one in entertainment.

The best part about Made of Jade? Tu P’s willingness to cover a wide range of topics including coming of age, stereotypes, or his thoughts on the hip hop industry.

His willingness to also involve his community and vibe off their creative energies also helps set him apart from your average artist.

This album is one of the freshest, more unique contributions to Hip Hop and even if you are not a huge fan of the genre, I have a feeling you can still find plenty of things to appreciate about Tu P’s music, his mission, and his overall vibe as an artist.

Connect with him on Facebook or ReverbNation.

Go buy the album from CD Baby, iTunes, or another fine e-tailer of digital music goods.
