Ultra_Eko Releases Kitchen Sink Dramas, Needs To Be Next In Your Queue, Here’s Why

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman March 28, 2020 12:35 am Tagged With: Hip Hop, London, rap, United Kingdom

Ultra Eko-Kitchen Sink Dramas

South London based Hip Hop artist Ultro_Eko began releasing music in summer 2019 but has quickly displayed a distinct, varied and passionate voice not found in your average rapper.

Ultra_Eko’s newest project, Kitchen Sink Dramas, is his debut EP and includes a collection of thoughtful, often reflective, lyrically deep songs that are rooted in highly enjoyable, mood-setting musical compositions. His storytelling approach further adds to the depth of his lyricism and the potency of each song.

It’s safe to say this long time Hip Hop Head is impressed. Although, I will admit that the album has grown on me after repeated listens. Regardless, if you truly love Hip Hop for what Hip Hop is, and always been, Ultra_Eko delivers the vibes and the substance that any true Head can and will appreciate.

Often sharing stories that come from a darker place, themes listeners will absorb through the lyrics and moods include reflecting on regret, relationship breakdowns, the search for understanding of self, the fragile identities we create and grasp onto and more topics for listeners who enjoy their Hip Hop lyricism with a lot of deep thought, soul searching and reflection.

I’m a new fan. Ultra_eko, you’re now on my radar.

Soul’s Code and King of the Wild Things are potentially my favorites but just listen to the entire EP, you won’t be disappointed. I am thoroughly enjoying for the…well, I’ve lost count. Just go bump it!

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
