What Do I Do by David Pollack

by C Bret Campbell October 30, 2014 12:01 pm

unnamed (3)NYC-bred artist David Pollack releases new single “What Do I Do” off his debut albumPut Into Words, released earlier this year. Click HERE to listen. Drawing inspiration from artists such as  Paul Simon, James Taylor, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, Pollack’s standalone sound is equal parts soul and pop. Make sure to listen to his latest single and let me know if you are interested in a track review, feature, or interview with David Pollack!

Drawing inspiration from artists such as  Paul Simon, James Taylor, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, Pollack picked up his first guitar at age 12. He recorded his first EP at age 16 after winning a free recording session at a JCC Battle of the Bands, leading him to perform at various well-known NYC venues such as The Knitting Factory, CBGB’s, Sullivan Hall and more.

[ed] David Pollack has sent us another great song! He’s quite the master of utilizing his unique blend of jazzy chords on shiny sounding acoustic guitars and whacky eclectic electric passages to frame a sound reminiscent of The Pretenders around a sweet love song. Darn good stuff! If this were a track on the Mid Tenn Listens Live show, we’d definitely rate it a redlight-jammer! – c bret

Check out the latest single “What Do I Do” from David Pollack’s debut album Put Into Words, out now.  Obscure Sound says, “Pollack is…able to transpose his emotions into words without the slightest touch of melodramatic desperation.” Also watch out for his upcoming shows for Canadian Indie Week in Toronto at Crawford Bar, Lou Dawgs, and Free Times Cafe as well as his CMJ showcases at Leftfield on October 23rd and at Starbucks (Astor Pl) on October 24th. He will also be performing at Rockwood Music Hall November 2nd!
