Double Shot – Who Bought The Sun by Niacin Library

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman September 19, 2013 11:18 am Tagged With: Acoustic, Folk, Punk, Rock

Our Double Shot series includes an interview question and a song feature from an independent band or musician near you. The goal is to allow you to learn more about the bands we feature in smaller, more digestible amounts of content.

Grab your cup of coffee, click play, and allow us to continue getting to know Richard of Niacin Library.

Today’s Double Shot features Who Bought The Sun from The Vulture and The Sun. Be sure and check out our previous Double Shot with Richard.

What did you take away from the writing and recording process of this album? Are you ready to record another one? Will be playing live or touring any time in the future? ….and in closing, do you have any last thoughts or shout outs you wish to share?

I took away that I have a long way to go in terms of what I would like to achieve with my music. Haha! It’s kind of a never ending path. I hope that I’m still doing this when my arthritic fingers can barely plunk a string. However, despite that I still have many miles to go, I feel that The Vulture and the Sun turned out really great. It’s honest and it’s true and that’s what really matters the most to me.

I am definitely a little burned out from writing and recording this one haha! But it was originally going to be a ten song album rather than a five song E.P. So, I still have those unrecorded songs and I will happily release them in the future.

Unfortunately, I’m not going to be playing live anytime soon. I am in the middle of my master’s degree and I really need to finish that up before I take on any other major projects. Still, it was really fun to be able to share this with everyone.

I do have one shout out to make! If you’re interested in hearing some great music from Boise, check out my friend’s website at: http://marcuseugene.blogspot.com/

Thanks to Middle Tennessee Music for your time and your questions!
