The YeahTones Eviction Notice Tour

We’ve become big fans of The YeahTones over here at MTM so of course we’re excited to share the new video for A Real Song and the tour dates for the band’s Eviction Notice Tour.

This tour will have a stop at Foobar in Nashville on November 3rd.

A Real Song tackles, head-on, the current state of the media, those calling the shots, and all the injustices trickling down through the systemic cracks.

VIDEO RELEASE SHOW CONFIRMED OCT 11th AT THE KNITTING FACTORY

YeahTones - A Real Song

Brooklyn-based rock ’n’ roll quartet The YeahTones, led by guitarist/singer/ songwriter/producer Jake Pinto, release the band’s third music video single, “A REAL SONG,” on October 4, 2016.

“A Real Song” is a brutal attack on mainstream media, pundits, police and politicians in the USA. The song rips into all who fabricate what the “real” problems are by distorting and obscuring the truth: “Everybody thinks they know the real thing / lying so loud making my ears bleed.”

Using the gross injustices and cover-ups of police brutality against innocent citizens and people of color as motivation for his message, Jake laments this twisted state of ignorance and pleads for truth and justice: “Maybe I’ll try to write a real song / telling you everything that is wrong / In this world I can’t believe in / show me something to believe in.”

The music video by Gerardo Rodriguez elevates and amplifies antiestablishment spirit of the song. For the filmmaker, an immigrant from Mexico, the lies and fear mongering of our current media as amplified by Donald Trump is all too real. While in New York City attending a film program and taking off-the-books restaurant jobs to survive, Gerardo met the band one fated night at a show in Bushwick. They hit it off together and decided that same night that they would make a video for this song together.

The foundation of the song was recorded in one take at Solitude Studios in Pennsylvania featuring Jake Pinto on guitar, Doug Berns on bass, and Dillon Treacy on drums. Jake then recorded vocals, additional guitars and keys at his home studio in Brooklyn.

On Oct 11th the band will celebrate the release of their video as they headline The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. The show will feature support by Fat Heaven and Wings of the Whale.
