In The Meantime… Be Sure To Jam Zen Archer’s Album, Celebrating 30 Years of Rock N Roll!

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman June 12, 2021 12:31 pm Tagged With: classic rock, progressive rock, Rock, rock n roll, Texas, United States

Zen Archer-In The Meantime

Zen Archer are no newbies to the music world. The 2019 release of their album In The Meantime… marks the celebration of 30+ years of music making, touring, and connecting with avid fans across the world.

If you love to rock, than RAWK we shall! Zen Archer combines all the best elements of classic and progressive rock ‘n’ roll with their distinctive Texas flavor.

Recorded primarily in Houston, In The Meantime… represents a collective of talents including contributions from Christopher Cross, Monte Montgomery (Top 50 All-Time Greatest Guitar Players by Guitar Player Magazine), Bill Berger, and Marcus Evans as well as Zen Archer‘s core members: Dan Golvach (vocals, guitar), Randy Miller (vocals, bass), Steve Wilson (vocals, guitar), and Michael Grammar (drums).

The band’s career speaks for itself. They lost to ZZ Top for Best Rock Band of Houston in the ’90s. How many other bands you know can say that?!?!?!!! During that time period, they also received extensive airplay and support from Houston stations: KLOL, Texas Radio and Z107. They played well known festivals such as Party on the Plaza, HoustonFest, FreedomFest and The International Festival where they shared stages with acts such as: Bruce Hornsby, Roger McGuinn, Eddie Money ,Bo Diddley, and Mark Farner.

After the 90s, the band took a break. They played together in difference configurations. They released solo albums. They won GRAMMYs. They raised families. In The Meantime… is a “coming back together” of sorts to celebrate and remember the fan favorites, the radio hits, and all the great memories and connections the band left in their wake.

Turn this one up loud and just jam!! You’ll probably want your air guitar nearby.
