Los Angeles based IDM/experimental artist zenxienz has delivered his newest project Brainforest.

Brainforest is not only filled with unique sonic arrangements but comes from a space where zenxienz cuts through the weeds and allows space for his creative mind to act on its natural impulses. In his words,

I chose the title “Brainforest” for this project because I’ve been contemplating the way ideas form in our heads. Being able to ‘see the forest through the trees’ brings some order to that jumbled mess. So many differing opinions and possibilities are accessible to us, and we have the power to reach all of them when we draw back the weeds. This album is almost meant to be a tool for gaining control of your own “Brainforest” and discovering the power you hold.”

Like a neural network that makes up the brain, Brainforest evolves into a network of noises and sounds which continue connecting and building off one another as the album progresses.

Birthing from an epic blend of dissonant sound clusters, melodies begin to form. Rhythms provide the drive which push our minds to transform what we hear from chaos into something more stable and beautiful.

Pushing the boundaries of music and the mind is what zenxienz does best. Brainforest is his musical playground and a map for which provides the path for nothing and silence to give life to an evolving complexity of stimulating sounds.
