David Graham is the modern-day King of the Honky Tonks. His high energy performances have become a crowd favorite in Nashville’s neon lit Lower Broadway district as long-time leader of hillbilly trio, The Eskimo Brothers. Graham’s sound has been forged by countless shows from long standing residencies in Nashville and Memphis, embracing a wide variety of American Roots music and delivering it with a rowdy edge. The magnetic show has evolved to a force of constant movement, continuously touring through the U.S. as well as U.K. and parts of Europe.
Downtown, out today, is a perfect example of both the variety and punch that Graham’s live shows have been known for. The lead off single, Big Time Tonight delivers a lively boot – scooting performance complete with a barroom style shouting chorus and a honky tonk piano solo. David makes an effort to cover a vast amount of musical ground during the listening experience with the title track ballad- Downtown, then moving along with songs such as the galloping anthem – Run With You and Wild West themed Ghost Town.
Downtown is an Americana stew of Country, Rock and Blues that aims to please fans ranging from George Jones to the Rolling Stones. David tracked the record in Nashville at the Sound Emporium and the Bomb Shelter with a cast of talented musicians that he’s performed with live over the years.
A party for the release will take place at David’s home Honky Tonk, Layla’s in Nashville on Sunday, June 15th.
