Interview with Cold Camp – Winter Dreamz

Cold Camp-Winter Dreamz

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Cold Camp about their latest project, Winter Dreamz.

Full Q&A along with music and links below.

For more dope Hip Hop from Hand’solo Records, visit their website.

Let’s get this hot topic out of the way from the start. What are your feelings on AI as a creative tool? Have you experimented with it? Or released any projects where it was used?

As a creative tool in music we don’t use it.  For maybe some background for some photos, maybe, but using it as a device to create actual product and design is nothing unique or inspiring.  It’s creatively lazy. Using it as a tool on the side, sure.

What is your earliest music memory? Or a moment that sticks out for motivating you to write, record, and release music?

For us we have been inspired from young ages. I think having most of the crew move back to the same city, we saw it as a chance to really build something bigger than any of us had done before. We inspire each other, try and drop the best music we can as a group, and push each other to higher levels.

What’s up with this latest release? Any cool back-stories, bloopers, or notable inspirations?

We really found our sound on this album. Being our sophomore album, we knew what we wanted to create and bring forth to the listeners’ ears.

What keeps you going, especially on the “bad” days?

Blue Zushi, Wedding Cake, Gelato #44, Venom OG, Scotti Face OG, Purple Haze, Blue Dream, Candy Gas. Everything grown and curated properly.

If you could collaborate with anyone – dead or alive, famous or unknown – who would it be and why?

As a group, We would want Ras Kass, Ghostface or Styles P on a joint.

I know it’s hard…but favorite song (or artist) of all time? Or Top 3 if you can’t choose one…?

Top 3 GOATS for The Dirty Sample (our producer) Pharoah Monch, Black Thought, Jay Electronica.

Where’s the best place to connect with You?
