Electro-pop heavyweight Lights drops the shimmering new track “LEARNING TO LET GO” and its accompanying music video. The electric new single is a soundtrack for the messy middle — that emotionally complex space between heartbreak and healing, where freedom feels like both a victory lap and a blind sprint.
“‘LEARNING TO LET GO’ is essentially about emotional shapeshifting,” explains Lights. “The way our perception of something can change depending on our headspace or past experiences to the point where it’s hard to see the reality in a situation and extrapolate truth. Sometimes our only way forward is to learn to let go.”
The release arrives alongside a dreamy accompanying music video, conceived and edited by Lights herself.
The track is the second to arrive off the forthcoming A6EXTENDED, a supercharged deluxe treatment of her latest album A6 featuring eight brand new songs. “Learning To Let Go” follows the synth-driven stand-out single “EDUCATION” released in September alongside an accompanying music video, that hints at plenty of easter eggs to be revealed within her A6 world. The deluxe album is slated for release on January 30.
A6EXTENDED, slated for release on January 30, builds upon Lights’ sixth studio album A6, alongside a stunning full visual album. The music is her most deeply personal yet – entirely written and produced by Lights.
Making this album, Lights pulled from the full, beautiful, range of experiences that make life what it is. “Past lessons, grief and loss, personal growth in a world that wants you to stay the same, the bliss of sensuality, and the recklessness of love,” she expands. “It’s everything you’d write down in a small A6-sized journal because saying it out loud is often somehow harder.”
Lights recently announced the ‘COME GET YOUR GIRL’ 2026 tour with support from Soft Cult, set to kick off on February 13 in Edmonton. The tour includes 23 dates across North America with six Canadian dates including Edmonton, Calgary, London, Ottawa, Quebec and Montreal. Full ‘COME GET YOUR GIRL’ 2026 tour dates below.
