Arcade Fire has been known to surprise their fans with shows that are unannounced and incredibly enjoyable. During the Voodoo fest at City Park in new Orleans, The Alter Stage was graced with the presence of Arcade Fire as they surprised concert goers with their classic and unique sounds. This was a great way on Halloween Eve for fans to get into the spirit of the holiday with their favorite music. Fans have been wondering where this amazing band has been for the last 3 years.

However, the real fun was the no cell phones allowed private show that the band decided to throw before their large Voodoo festival gig. Nola reports that about 175 costumed fans began dancing to the melodic sounds of this dance-rock band that has been pleasing live audiences for years.

Arcade fire has always been known for their disco influences. This is very apparent in their new music. However, heavy beats are at the core of this new music that was previewed at the Voodoo festival. Deep lyrics were heard through these songs that are tackling many of the heavy issues that we are dealing with today. Arcade Fire has never been shy when it comes to talking about real world events and concerns that are affecting everyone’s daily lives. The crowd seemed very responsive to the heavier songs that are being created for their new album.

This surprise show seemed as though it was nothing more than the atmosphere of a Halloween party between friends at a local bar. Spiderwebs, plastic spiders, and webs made it seem like a high school party from a 90s movie. In what is regularly used as a television studio, fans piled into a small space to see what was really going on. Once fans started to see the large and elaborate equipment taking up the third room of the bar, they knew something big was in the works. Once Arcade Fire took the stage, fans knew they were in for something special. 14 songs were played that included fan favorites and previews of songs for the new album. The band also got into the Halloween spirit by playing the theme from Ghostbuster.

Diffuser
reported that Win Butler and wife Regine Chassagne have been living in New Orleans part time since 2013, around the time of the release of their last album. It makes sense that they would have an intimate invitation-only show where their friends and family could attend. It is great to see bigger bands giving the ones closest to them first dibs on their new music. It is inevitable that the world will hear Arcade Fire’s new dance rock beats soon enough but not before it has been previewed to a select group of friends and family. It will be very exciting to hear what tracks make it onto the new album. The new Arcade Fire album will be released in Spring 2017
