by C Bret Campbell November 22, 2011 11:18 am

The original article was first published on Small Barn Sound. Take a trip to the foothills for the full length feature. I’ve been making recordings since I was eight years old, and in the interest of making a good recording, I learned early to be prepared. As a musician, I often “write a song” and […]

How To Prepare Your Studio For Recording – part II

by C Bret Campbell November 22, 2011 1:08 am

Making the studio comfortable for the musicians and engineers ( usually just that guy they call, “me”) is only part of the secret to fast, groovy tracks. Having the gear set up and gobos in place, drums tuned, and selecting the mics is not going to get you all the way there. I told you […]

How To Prepare Your Studio For Recording

by C Bret Campbell November 21, 2011 12:50 am

I’ve been making recordings since I was eight years old, and in the interest of making a good recording, I learned early to be prepared. As a musician, I often “write a song” and run to record it only to find that I haven’t written a song, yet. Meaning, I find myself with some chords, […]

What is the single best improvement you can make to your studio […]

When was the last time you up-graded your recording (DAW – digital audio workstation) computer? If you’re like me, it’s been a while. You watch as update after update rolls out. 2 cores, then 4, 6, 8 ! What’s next, a cellphone sized machine that will just record and mix what we hear in our […]

Two years ago, songs starting coming to me. I tried to block them out – they persisted. So I bought a guitar. I wrote. I recorded. My first release hit #1 in Las Vegas. I made some important decisions. To not relive the rock n roll life, I chose Country. To take money out of […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
