Man there has been some good stuff landing on my desk lately!

In front of Exit/In - Nashville

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of Sky Hi’s new Album – Testify  and it’s got me jammin through the days with a smile on. Some one must have told them I like horns and strats…

Ten (eleven) tracks of driving funky soul that dares you not to dance to it. The group have been honing their style together for nearly a decade and they’ve put a polished edge on it that cuts straight to the heart of the groove. Whether it’s a bossa beat, straight funk, soulful salsa, or borderline jazz, these guys have it down.

The horns lay a perfect foundation for DeRobert “Dee” Adams’ powerful voice. Adams’ vocal goes from brazen to (dare I say it about another dude? ) seductive and pulls the listener into his positive messages with strong images and heart-felt delivery.

Adams and Sky Hi, based in Nashville, have been touring the south-east for a long time, moving audiences across the floor all over. That live experience really shines on “Testify”, which is to be released on November 8, 2011.

I haven’t been able to pick a favorite, yet. I’ll have to listen to them all a few dozen times over again, first. Let them know which you like in the comments below or by visiting their website or reverb nation page.

When they say record, they mean record.
