I am Rawson – Pull Up Clean ft. Mystic Mic

by C Bret Campbell December 10, 2014 8:06 am

It’s not every day that I listen to six hip-hop tunes in a day, much less spin the same one six times in a row! IamRawson sent over his latest “Pull Up Clean” featuring Mystik Mic, and I’m hooked! Dude spits rhymes nice and smooth, “see most these rappers shooks” they don’t have any sense […]

Oh wow, just right out the gate, Tall Tall Trees’ new EP kicks! If you are used to the way Mike Savino kicks like the whole Kingston Trio all in one, well forget it. This kicks in a whole new way! Combined a little help from his friends, Tall Tall Trees takes on a whole […]

by C Bret Campbell December 9, 2014 4:45 am

chastity long way

Oh, My Gosh! You know, I never run out of good things to say about Chastity Brown, but her latest record, “Long Way” is so special that my jaw hit the floor and I was dumbfounded for over a month, after being honored with an opportunity for a “first listen exclusive.” I’ve listened every day […]

66X by Katagi

Make sure you don’t miss our recent interview with Katagi about his new album 66X. A Japanese-Canadian emcee, Katagi hangs out on the alternative, experimental end of the Hip Hop spectrum. This is always refreshing. 66X is not Katagi’s first release so if this satisfies your aural tastes buds dig into his catalog. In the […]

Happy Halloween by Tracey Quake

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman November 17, 2014 3:08 pm Tagged With: R&B

Happy Halloween by Tracey Quake

Halloween might be over but Tracey Quake’s EP Happy Halloween is a lot bigger than one evening of trick or treating. Make sure you check out our interview with this urban theater artist. Five songs of catchy, lyrically deep music isn’t exactly what I expected from a project titled Happy Halloween but going opposite the norm lies […]

Not a stranger to the spotlight, Farah Washington began performing […]

Julianna McDuffie – The King & Queen of Nowhere

by Featured Guest November 16, 2014 1:12 pm

On November 4, 2014, Julianna McDuffie released an album called “The King & Queen of Nowhere.” I would tell you more about who Julianna McDuffie is, but there is very little info about her musical career that I could find. I really pay no attention to classifying music by genre. But researching for this article […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
