David Vella-The Voice Auditions

David Vella originates from Chicago, Illinois but this man has done a little bit of travelin’ in his time. David once was the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Satya Graha which released their first album on Ardvark Records in the UK. After Under the Skin released in 2003, the band split ways. David decided […]

Go John David Serenades Ghosts On The Ride Home

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman September 10, 2012 7:44 am Tagged With: Alternative, Pop, Rock

Ghosts on the Ride Home by Go John David

Go John David is here to put to sleep all the Ghosts on the Ride Home. This melancholic collection of songs is very reminiscent of the alt-rock from my teenage years (mid to late ’90s), but it is also obvious Go John David is influenced by a wide range of sounds. Inheriting albums such as Metallica and Air […]

The Striped Bananas

Pikeville, MD’s psychedelic flavor known as The Striped Bananas have arrived with their own unique experience. Capturing the spirit of the ’60s, The Striped Bananas deliver their own mix of The Doors, Dinosaur Jr, and The Beach Boys. They keep it old school with a twist of fresh. Duncan, Tel, and Lowden’s voices weave in and out […]

The Slowest Curve by Adena Atkins

Prepare for the amazing voice of Adena Atkins as she takes a journey through the seasons on her new EP, The Slowest Curve. Adena has a simple songwriting formula: 1) write lyrics that double as poetry, 2) provide a soundscape of highly imaginative music, and 3) channel it through a soprano vocal that moves you. There […]

It’s A Poor Boy’s Revival in Black Bird County

Poor Boy's Revival by Black Bird Country

Louisville, Kentucky is playing host to a rockin’ alt-country band who’s currently hostin’ a Poor Boy’s Revival in Black Bird County. Funny thing is, all of this happened by accident (or fate, perhaps). On a whim, the guys came together in order to participate in an upcoming battle of the bands. This lil shindig featured […]

Jonny Pecker and the Beaver Bustin’ Pickle Weasels (Drive-By Mustache)

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman September 4, 2012 10:12 am Tagged With: Metal, Rock

Jonnny Pecker and the Beaver Bustin Pickle Weasels

Jonny Pecker and the Beaver Bustin’ Pickle Weasels is what would happen if Motorhead mugged Metallica in a back alley, then shared a fifth of fire water awesomesauce with Poison. After beating up the members of Limp Bizkit for trying to consider themselves nu-metal, they share stages with acts such as:  Crowbar, Fuel, (hed) p.e., Fair […]

Kristen Faulconer Isn’t Missing a Thing!

by C Bret Campbell September 2, 2012 12:43 pm Tagged With: Electronic, Pop, Rock

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of abuse and destruction, Kristen Faulconer has a new strength, a renewed passion and a zest for life causing her to spread her wings and ride the winds of the musical sky-scape (hey I made that one up). The current seems to be in her favor, as she’s […]

Hit The Open Road With Deanna Cartea

Open Road by Deanna Cartea

Roll down the windows, turn up the stereo, and hit the Open Road with Deanna Cartea. Blurring the lines between folk, rock, and pop, Ms. Cartea delivers an alt-rock-country sound that you can’t help but enjoy. Think Joni Mitchell meets Feist in the beautiful country known as the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. If you […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
