by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman January 23, 2013 3:01 pm

The ASCAP New Music Showcase will be taking place January 30th at 12th & Porter in Nashville, Tennessee. Doors open at 8 PM. Visit the Facebook Event Page.

Big Fella Presents ASCAP Music Showcase

Let’s start with the basics. In your own words, tell everyone who you are, where you are from, and what type of music you make?

I’m Classic Williams. I’m from Nashville TN and I’m a Hip Hop artist.

How does it feel to be a part of Big Fella’s ASCAP showcase?

It’s a cool opportunity so I feel pretty good about it.

What led you down this journey known as music?

I’ve been doing music since I can remember. It’s my way of communicating with the world. I was always really loud and shit as a child and even up until now and this way I can be as loud as I want. Everybody needs an outlet I suppose. Mine just happens to be being epic and rocking stages.

What are your thoughts on the local scene? How long have you been involved in it?

I’ve been involved in the scene since I was about 18 or 19. I’m 23 now. Some things have changed. We’ve come together a little more and we’re showing the powers at be at that Nashville does more than country music. But some things are still the same. Alot of hating ass mua fuckers. Lots of bitch assery. Not enough money to feed everybody. Me personally I’m trying to eat off my art so I try to take this as seriously as possible. But ultimately I feel great being apart of something and that I have an audience to share my creativity with. In 2013 I plan to expand my excellence and rep the city wherever I go. It’s my home.

What artists and/or producers {have you/do you} work with?

I’ve done plenty of stuff with people around Nashville. My main producers I fuck with are Klassix Jones who produced Walk WIt A Dip by Louisiana Cash, soul produced my Soul Of Nigger Charlie project, my homie Jordan Bartlett aka nephew who produced re(flex)tions that was voted one of the top projects in the city in 2012 and shouts to the big homie NYSE too he’s production is gonna be on my next project EPIC WIN. As far is artist are concerned I’ve done joint with Gee Slab that was pretty dope. Of course the homies, Loco, Kaby, I mean I’ve been on alot of joints with people just google it I suppose lol.

What can the audience expect from you at 12th and Porter on January 30th?

Classic Williams. wearing some cool shit, and saying some cool shit, shaking life as usual. Being Epic.

Albums? Singles? Videos? Where can people find your music?

Go to ClassicWilliams.Bandcamp.com and check out my mixtape trilogy #SMH, The SOUL OF NIGGER CHARLIE, AND re(FLEX)tions

Also check out a single I put out called “By any means” on itunes spotify rhapsody all that.

I have some great music videos on youtube.com/preppypunkthug and be on the look for EPIC WIN in February the relaunch of www.ClassicWilliams.com more shows more visuals and more dope shit!

Any last words or shout outs?

follow me on twitter @classicalxmusic like my facebook.com/classicwilliams

shouts to my TBB x KK fam. shouts to everybody who’s been rocking with me. It’s greatly appreciated.

January 30th, 8 PM, 12th and Porter, Nashville, TN. Don’t miss it.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
