South African/Canadian multi-disciplinary CON THE ARTIST returns with “Teach You How To Love,” a shimmering alt-pop cut laced with wobbly guitars, serotonin-soaked production, and lyrics that balance honesty with cheek. At once playful and poignant, the track explores what it means to guide someone through the emotional learning curve of love.
“This song was originally just a fun demo that I tucked away for a while because I wasn’t sure if the style was me, especially at a time when I was focused on writing more serious music… and this wasn’t serious at all. I eventually got over that hurdle after writing (previous single) ‘PEACH’ when I realized I had way more fun letting my freak flag fly in both production and lyrics,” CON shares. “Production-wise, I think it’s one of the most fun ear candy driven ones I’ve produced.”
At its core, “Teach You How To Love” isn’t about physical experience, but emotional experiences. The selfless acts, compromise, and sacrifice that define real relationships.
“Sometimes one partner already knows how to be more loving and giving because they’ve been through heartbreak, made mistakes, hurt people, and learned from it,” CON explains. “That kind of experience shapes how you show up for someone else. With this song, I leaned into that idea of leading by example and showing someone what being loved means to you.”
The result is an upbeat, shimmering track that makes room for nuance, while still delivering pure pop joy.
