Switzerland based emcee The Soul Seeker and producer Sound-Sage are the pure, raw, super ill Hip Hop duo known as Conscious Presence. Their self-titled album is a testament and display of the group’s dedication to Hip Hop culture, it’s art and especially it’s true school and golden era sounds.

Further driving home the potency of their rawness, the group took it all the way back to the roots with their recording process…

We recorded everything in Satori Records vintage studio onto a tape machine, which means; every song was recorded one-take, even with the DJs on cue doing scratches. Even the music video was filmed with an old tape camera to keep the feeling authentic. Sound quality of the 70s, music of the 90s and a message of today.”

Recording in one take as an emcee isn’t unheard of in Hip Hop but recording an entire album in one take including the turntablism takes the raw factor to an entirely higher level! Mad respect and kudos!!

Every song is a hard hitting, pure injection of everything I personally love about Hip Hop music. As a lifelong Hip Hop junkie, Conscious Presence just made it into my top 5 list of indie Hip Hop artists I want to keep on my radar.
