Delware’s Heart of HipHop, C-Rock on AITP Fest

by C Bret Campbell August 23, 2013 12:18 am

C-Rock from Delaware sent in an installment for our interviews with the Artists In The Plus about the Online Music Festival in September.

DJ WIG introduced C-Rock into “Recording Music” where he made his 1st mixtape titled “bloody battle”. Not knowing if many would want to hear it he still took the chance and recorded 50 copies on cassette tapes then went to Kinkos printed covers and sold them to his fellow class mates. Many years have went by and C-Rock has learned to form his craft into a true form of hip-hop. In 2008 C-Rock was arrested for growing and selling marijuana serving 9 months in prison. Missing the birth of his son he knew time in life was not going to wait for him. He has recorded over 150 tracks since then with the release of 7 mixtapes since 2009 and opening for famous artist such as Bizzy Bone former artist of ”Bone Thugs n Harmony, Esham , Bizarre of “D12”, King Gordy , Mad illz “ceo of Grindtime” and one of the greatest battle artist in the world , legendary “Iron Solomon”. Slowly learning how to direct and edit music videos C-Rock now is not only known for his music but his vision threw a high definition lens. Creating over 40 video projects stamped with approval by many fans C-Rock is ready to help break the shell that Delaware has been stuck in since the birth of hip-hop.

c-rock-googleMTM: Let’s start at the beginning. Tell us a little about yourself. how and when did you start making music?
C-ROCK: I would write my favorite artists music on paper so i could remember their songs.I recorded my 1st project in high school with a DJ.
MTM: Why do you do it, now?
C-ROCK: I feel like my state has been frowned upon with Hip-Hop so i use every bit of energy to place us on top and raise the bars.
MTM: What were some of your early influences and what inspires you today
C-ROCK:Mid-Late 90’s hiphop was my greatest influences such as Nas,Big Pun,Wu-Tang,Onyx and plenty more. Today My fans inspire me because most can relate to what i speak about and they become part of me whether they know it or not.
MTM: What was the last song you listened to (disc in the car or what-not)?
C-ROCK:  actually it was my song “Heavy Winds” because i had to remember it for my music video.
MTM: How did you connect with Artists in the Plus and what attracted you to working with them?
C-ROCK: John reached out to me and we set up a meeting and i trust what he is trying to do and i dont trust that easy
.
MTM: Last year’s festival was a huge success and changed a lot of things about music on the net. Were you a part of that?
C-ROCK:  i was not.
MTM: What would you like to see as a result of the festival, this year?
C-ROCK: Major Press,A Positive outcome and More fans.
MTM: Have you been using services like Hangouts On Air, U-Stream, Street-Jelly, or others to perform live via video on line? What kind of reaction are you getting?
C-ROCK: Not yet, John will be helping me set up very soon.
MTM: Village Studios in LA will be hosting the festival, this year and there will be a studio stage in North Carolina and another in Norway. Will you be travelling or performing remote from your own studio?
C-ROCK: Yes, this year i will be flying to L.A
MTM: If you could ask one performer to join you on a record, who would it be?
C-ROCK:  Alicia Keys, One of the most beautiful voices my ears have ever heard.
MTM: What one thing would you change about this world, if you could?
C-ROCK:  Hatred towards one another. I beleive more positive things in humanity could literally help this world be a safer place for our future kids.
MTM: Where can we find you and your music?
C-ROCK:  At www.Grind24seven.com under artist section “C-Rock”
MTM:  In closing, is there anything you would like to add or anyone you would like to shout-out to?
C-ROCK:  I hope that this event can change most of our lives in a positive way. I would like to S/O to my Family,True Freinds and fans who support and beleive in me along my journey to success.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
