Easter Island Reveals Emotive New Video; On the Road with Slow Teeth in May

by Leslie Sherman May 16, 2023 9:19 am

Easter Island has just launched their new video for “You Don’t Have A Choice,” as they head into their Mid-May tour with Slow Teeth.

“You Don’t Have a Choice” is an indie rock song that evokes an ethereal and moody atmosphere through its intricate instrumentation and emotive vocals. The track opens with a soft guitar melody and subtle percussion, eventually building up to a powerful climax of layered vocals and soaring guitars. The introspective nature of the lyrics is matched perfectly with the melancholic and contemplative instrumentation, resulting in a dreamy and haunting soundscape that encapsulates the overall mood of the song. Easter Island’s ability to create atmospheric and emotionally resonant music is on full display with “You Don’t Have a Choice,” making it a standout indie rock gem. If you enjoy indie rock with intricate instrumentals, soulful vocals, and thoughtful lyrics, then this track is a must-listen.

Slow Teeth is a North Carolina Triangle-based band consisting of Robert Chamberlain, Justin Ellis, and Jeremy Haire, who draw inspiration from Radiohead/The Smile, Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros, and other artists to create original cinematic music. The band debuted in March 2022 and has since toured extensively throughout the East Coast, sharing the stage with acts like Xiu Xiu, Holy Fawn, Camp St. Helene, and Merci. They have played at notable venues such as Berlin (NYC), Pie Shop (Washington DC), The Cat’s Cradle (Carrboro NC), The Pinhook (Durham NC), Asbury Park Yacht Club (Asbury Park NJ), the North Carolina State Fair, and the Carrboro Music Festival. In 2023, Slow Teeth plans to release new music produced by Sumner James Phillips (Bombadil, David Wax Museum) and continue touring.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness.
