Glitter Rose – Rockin “Tennessee Time”

by C Bret Campbell September 15, 2014 2:05 am

avatars-000003976628-1afztq-t500x500This Nashville boy has been flirtin’ with Glitter Rose from over on the left coast for a couple years on Twitter (gotta throw some props to Carol at Butterflies Radio for the introduction). I’ve always loved her attitude and sound, and to be honest, she’s one of the funniest female rockers I follow over there, I love her live interviews. Anyways, I’m babbling… this review is long overdue, apologies, G R.

As I said I’ve been following for a while and have always jammed Glitter Rose tunes like “She Says” and “Kody Was a Killer.” Glitter Rose has a great, pounding Southern-rock / bluesy style of playing and a sultry, greasy, smoky voice to lead those huge guitar sounds. She’s powerful. It only takes a minute to catch it.

“Tennessee Time” is a bit of a departure from what we’ve come to expect from the left-handed six-string slinger. Much more “Nashville” than “LA,” she stuck to her roots of making the song’s sounds fit the lyric. Great guitars, some steel licks and that shuffle beat drive the tune mixing up Strat and Humbucker sounds.

It’s an ode to the country boy, heck you probably know I’m biased… but hey, it should give me plenty of new good flirting fodder for flitter, er Twitter.

“I need a hot Tennessee time on a cold Cali night,” she sings… well watch out Glitter! I’m going to have a plane in a decade or ten and I’ll be on my way (don’t tell the wife).

Seriously, this is one hot little Cali rock tune from a hot-rockin’ gal to keep your ears turned on to.

Here is the most recent interview she did with Butterflies Radio on #TTL Twitter Tuesday Live
