Toronto-based singer-songwriter Heather Avalon returns with “beg for me” – a fiery, emotionally charged pop-rock anthem that captures the sting of one-sided love and the fantasy of finally being the one in control. Inspired by a whirlwind summer fling with a visitor from the UK, the track channels heartbreak, longing, and empowerment into one punchy, passionate release.
“I spent five days with someone and genuinely thought we could make it work after he went back to the UK,” Avalon shares. “I wanted to write a song that told the story as it was while also telling my story of what I wanted, which was for him to come crawling back to me on his hands and knees, begging for me.”
Written and produced alongside Jesse Maxwell – whom Avalon met by chance at a birthday dinner where he happened to be performing – “beg for me” is both intensely personal and broadly relatable. With biting lyrics and a soaring, melancholic arrangement, the track offers catharsis to anyone who’s ever loved harder than they were loved back.
