“HIKARI” – A Bright New Song of Global Unity from STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION

by Leslie Sherman October 3, 2024 3:24 pm Tagged With: anime, indie, Japan, Poland, Pop, singer, songwriter, STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION

STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION’s latest release, “HIKARI” is the official theme song for Poland’s HIKARI Festival 2024, a prominent part of Pyrkon, one of Europe’s largest fantasy conventions.

The track serves as a celebration of global unity, embodying the belief that “music connects people around the world.” This message is reinforced through the unique incorporation of sounds and choral elements from both Poland and Japan, which makes it a truly cross-cultural anthem.

Listen in here:

“HIKARI” is an upbeat and catchy number and perfectly apt for a festival theme song.

The dynamic energy of the track makes it instantly engaging, and the fact that fans were able to participate by recording their voices for the chorus adds a personal touch to the performance. The song’s production is seamless , blending the voices of Japanese and Polish fans into a harmonious expression of togetherness.

Lyrically, the song conveys a simple but powerful message:

“Even when we’re apart, we’re still connected.”

This line captures the essence of the song as it works to bridge physical distances through music. This is a theme that has become forgotten about in today’s globalized world where we all connect via technology.

Lyrics are straightforward and unembellished, allowing the listener to focus on the overall energy.

While “HIKARI” succeeds in its mission to unite people through music, the track could benefit from a bit more lyrical depth, as it contains only two verses that repeat. However, this repetition does help to emphasize the song’s core message.

The festival organizer has praised the “Hikari” for capturing the bright and joyful character of the HIKARI Festival and noted how the live performance in Poland, where fans sang along with the chorus, created a truly unique experience. This connection between artist and audience is where “HIKARI” shines.

Overall, “HIKARI” is a strong, feel-good anthem that will delight fans of STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION as well as festival-goers.

While it might lack complexity in its lyrics, its infectious energy and global appeal more than make up for it. Fans of anime music and international collaborations will find plenty to appreciate in this track.
