HundredMillionThousand is the moniker of Canada based experimental/electronic/Hip Hop producer Noel Jon and his album lp1 is an intense sonic journal exploring the intricacies of moods and what some would classify as mental illness.

Suspenseful compositions backed by aggressive, gut-churning percussion patterns interweave with lingering pads, haunting atmospheres, Iranian vocalizing, spiritual chants and Tombak (a goblet drum from Persia aka ancient Iran) to create a very unique but hauntingly refreshing Hip Hop infused experience unlike any other.

HundredMillionThousand manages to infuse his history and cultural heritage into a modern and introspective arrangement of frequencies.

The rhythmic flows from Cab’ral and Kurai and several of the album’s songs are a welcome addition to the soundscape and offer much needed relief from the otherwise fierce aural creations.
