I got to listen to “I Wish” by https://soundcloud.com/dylanlloyd (prod. Soundtrakk) from his new EP “One By One” that’s due out soon. Got to hand it to the guy, even though it hit me first as a pop song, I kept digging little things like the simple but real lyric, and the fact that he opted to drop the autotune when he hit the falsetto at the chorus!

Dylan gets right down to it and says in plain English what so many find it so hard to get our tongues to release:

I dont wanna take anymore time
Waiting for the future
You know that I’ve waited all my life
For you my love
Ive never felt this way before
And i just wanna make you feel good

Getting into it and reading the lyrics, I was really diggin’ on the whole thing, but started to worry as I got to the last verse and there were still two minutes left in the track. Dylan and Soundtrakk producer, Lupe Fiasco, surprised me again with a great breakdown that is sure to become one of the most popular sections of this one for all sorts of things. I could see it making a fantastic reprise for the album as one example.

So yeah, the unusual happened, I got to the end of a song on Soundcloud and just let the rest of that musician’s tunes play uninterupted, no skipping around, Dylan Lloyd RoKKs!
