In this interview spotlight, I chat with CARVi about her latest release, challenges, technology and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

I am from Brazil but grew up all over the world. I create electro pop/ down beat pop.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?

Music has always been as escape for me, I feel into it. I always loved doing it for fun …never really seriously. That shifted  when I realized how powerful I could be in what i sang/wrote. Now take it SUPER serious, and its the most important thing in my life. I don’t know what I would be with out it… every time i think about doing something else i can’t. Thats what makes me stick with it.

How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?

My first EP was 4 years ago, even tho i released it in 2017. like every human/ artist we grow and change so much every day. My new music is a huge reflection of where I was at when i wrote it last year. Im more centered and chill, more in tune with me and what i needed to say. The point was to make something that was heavy yet light, something that was specific but also really up to interpretation. Im not a huge fan of being in box/ coloring inside the lines.  Im pretty sure i Acomplished that with this EP.

Do you face any challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? On the flip side, how has technology helped you (if it has)?

Ive only ever really been an artist in the digital age… however, i do remember what it was like to be a consumer of music before that. I got say i don’t think one out weighs the other.  Its like apples  and oranges… they are both round and sweet, but look and taste very different. There are so many ways you can have your music be out there that sometimes it’s hard to find. On the flip side its so much easier to reach the whole world now! with a click of a button …boom.

Where can we follow you online and hear more music?

Carvimusic.com is probably the best place to find me.

Anything else before we sign off?

Thank you so much for having me !
